REVIEW:

Finally saw this the other day and I must say the the CG was amazing and life like. The 3D was great as well. Thought it was a great movie though it did have a familiar plot line.Some would say its a dime a dozen and have said it resembles dances with wolves That to me doesn't effect the film at all tough.
The plot involves Jake Sully(Sam Worthington) who is recruited into the Avatar science program. the mission of this program is to use a remotely controlled body called an Avatar to study the planet Pandora. These avatars look like the Planets natives the Navi. One his first mission to Pandora Jake gets lost and runs into Neyteri(Zoe Saldana) who instead fo killing him takes him under her wing and teaches him the ways of the Navi. Meanwhile the milatary in the film are one Pandor for one reason to harvest a material called unanbtaineum. This leads to a big conflict with the Navi and Jake. Thats all I will say about the plot I do not want to spoil it .
The Acting was good as well. Zoe Saladana was only seen on screen through her CG character. She plays Nyteri daughter of the navi tribe leader. She is Jakes and the audiences guide through the beautiful and strange world of Pandora. Nyteri is also Jake's eventual love interest. Zoe is never seen in person on screen she is only seen through her performance capture character(keep in mind this IS NOT an animated film these actors had to perform everything and not just lend their voices. What ever you see the CG characters doing on screen the actors actually acted out and did) and her performance was better and showed more emotion than seem from some live actors in other films. She is the chaacter that the viewer empathizes with the most. She is essentialy the heart of the film. Zoe Saldana is really a great actress and one to watch out for in the future . Saldana is quickly becoming a favorite of mine check her out in 2009's Star Trek as well as the Pirates if the Caribbean films.
Sam Worthington gives another great performance as well. He is the Star of the Film Jake Sully.Mr. Worthington is capeable of carring a film on his own as seen here . Worthington again plays a sympathetic character that you can't help but root for. Not 15 minutes into the film I sided with Jake and wanted him to be successful in his mission. As in Terminator Salvation this guy is the heart of the film. Without Worthington and Zoe of corse there essentially is no film.This guy has some real acting talent and is going to have a long career ahead of him. Checkout a couple of other films Terminator Salvation, Rogue, Macbeth, and Somersault. He gives amazing in those as well. He's now one of my favorite actors.
The movie also features Sigourney Weaver teaming up with James Cameron for the first time since Aliens. She plays a scientist Grace and gives a good performance as well, Michelle Rodriguez is also in the movie she plays Trudy and for once she is not the bad-ass tough as nails chick that she is known to play. She plays a character who Turns out to be nice and sympathetic. Joel Moore is also in the film as Norm. Moore is probably best know in the horror community for starring in the recent slasher flick Hatchet.
Overall truly a great film worth watching and my personal favorite of 2009 it also has a spot on favorite movies of all time list.

Terminator Salvation Review

This movie got lots of bad reviews upon its release this past May and I don't see why. I really liked this movie I have enjoyed the whole Terminator franchise even though it has had its ups and downs like any franchise would. To me this is a worthy entry in the franchise and I am glad that they decided to show you the war against the machines a thing that was only hinted at and shown very briefly in all the other entries. Now the movie does have a couple of plot holes but for me it doesn't effect the film. The Action scenes are great and exciting. they are well shot and you can see everything that is going on. Now on to the cast which I thought was great. Christian Bale has received lots of criticism about his performance but I think he did a great job as John Connor he was much better than Nick Stahl in Terminator 3. Now was it his best performance ever NO but that is not his fault he did the best with what he was given the character seemed underwritten. Only problem I had with Bale's performance was that he let his gruff Batman voice slip in there every now and then. Other noteworthy performances come from Sam Worthington who plays the new to the franchise character Marcus Wright. Now the movie is more about the Marcus character than it is John Connor. Marcus wright was put to death in 2003 for murder and donates his body to science. We next see Marcus wake up in the future 2018 right in the middle of this war. The rest of the movie Marcus is trying to find out who and what he is and how he got this way. Now Sam Worthington is a relative unknown here in America but has been acting for quite some time in Australia and has won some awards there. Now his performance in this film is great he makes you feel empathy for Marcus very quickly. Worthington can go head to head with Bale and steal every scene now to me anyone who can do that has some talent. Worthington has a long career ahead of him if you ask me. He will only become more well known as he stars in more movies now he is fresh off the success of AVATAR and with the upcoming CLASH OF THE TITANS. Anton Yelchin Plays a very important character Kyle Reese. Yelchin gives a good performance that pays homage to Kyle Beans performance in the first Terminator movie. The movie also features the Beautiful and sexy Moon Bloodgood as Blair Williams who serves as the love interest for Marcus. Her performance is good and I just wish her character had more screen time. Bryce Dallas Howard is featured as Kate Connor John Connor's wife who was previously played by Claire Danes in Terminator 3. Overall if you are a fan of Terminator check this movie out its a fun ride.
